A Proposal on Lake Shore Drive

My brother-in-law recently had an engagement party on the top of his apartment building in Lincoln Park and it was the PERfect evening for the soiree. Before the party, he took his girlfriend for a walk along the beach of Lake Shore Drive to propose, and happily, she said yes!  It was such a lovely evening and we could not be happier for the new couple...and I will have a new sister!  Here are some of the photos, including some outfit pics we took while we were waiting for the guests to arrive ;)

i4design Magazine Suite Sixteen Launch Party

This annual soirée celebrates i4design Magazine's top picks of sixteen architects and interior designers who are making their mark in the industry. This year, the event was held at the swanky new TZAR Lounge in downtown Chicago. The venue was a bit of a hybrid between a club and a lounge and was a great setting for the event...that is, until it got a bit too packed for comfort and an oddly risque runway show made me long for the class of last years event. However, these nuisances paled in comparison to the fabulous people in attendance and the fact that I was chosen by an even organizer to film a segment for HGTV! Overall, another great event from a great industry publication.

Nautical Neutrals

Do you ever see an outfit on the street or in a magazine and think... I could totally do that! Well, I do that all the time because I am always looking for new ways to style the pieces that I already own to keep my wardrobe fun and fresh. I saw this cute little number on a fashion blog the other day and just fell in love with the easy casual look and knew I already had some similar pieces to make my own version of the ensemble! What do you think? xx

My version:

I thought the perfect backdrop for this shoot would be on the Chicago Water Taxi and whats even better was that my bestie Bethany happened to be in town so we enjoying cruising around and enjoying the pretty city for the afternoon! Ahhhh summer.
